I have always been a softie for coats. Sometimes I put my outfits together beginning with my coat just to make sure it matches. A certain coat at the outlet has caught my attention several times, and it’s an RM by Roland Mouret coat that comes in both black and pastel green.

The fold over detail at the chest is refreshingly different. It also zips up the front, which is convenient. Usually, I would recommend buying the black version of most things. However, if the majority of your wardrobe is already black then the pastel green color would add a lovely flare. You can’t go wrong either way. Check it out at the AlOthman RTW Outlet.

Astonishing silhouettes, rich fabrics, and sublime adornments are what all Oscar de la Renta dresses have in common. Whether you have an occasion during the day or night, Oscar’s pieces will instantly turn you into downright glamour.
Here is Jennifer Garner dressing up for a daytime premiere in a cutesy tweed-like Oscar de la Renta dress with beaded hemlines and what looks like an embellished corsage on the neckline. The simple pony tail and black pumps complete this ‘darling look’. The dress is available at AlOthman for KD 898.

Moving on from the sweet day look, we have Amber Valleta donning a shiny silver strapless Oscar de la Renta dress with an origami detail on the skirt. I consider this dazzling piece timeless and ideal for an immediate ‘glam me up’ look. I’m personally not a big fan of Amber’s tough black booties, but she was right to accessorize with a choker. The Oscar dress is available for KD 649.

Now for something more ladylike and chic, here is a stunning black Oscar de la Renta LBD as seen on Demi Moore. The cascading ruffles and rosette detail on the neckline add the perfect flair to the piece. This dress is available in black and red for 798 KD.

Claire Danes is not known for wowing us on the red carpet, but I’m still gushing over her Oscar de la Renta geometric printed dress with sheer neckline. The print adds a graphic appeal to the flirty frock, and the sweet cut of the dress flatters her every inch. It’s not clear on the photo, but the matching black skinny belt is beautifully adorned with small pearls, which adds the perfect extra touch. The Oscar de le Renta dress is available at AlOthman, along with a matching blazer with scalloped hem lines.
This Norwegian native first entered the fashion world as a model but made her way into the interactive world of blogging. Her main interest? Street style. Hanneli has made a name of herself and photographers often spot and photograph her while she attempts to do her own work.

Much more than just a pretty face, Hanneli has established herself as a professional blogger and can usually be spotted around fashion week with her camera equipment. Though her fame increases each season, she keeps her modesty intact. “I waited under my umbrella in the rain preparing to get some shots after the show. To pass the time, I shot some cute girls waiting outside.” This comment was made to Elle magazine about a rainy day in Paris after a Chanel show.

Some of her blog inspirations include The Sartorialist and Jak & Jill, both known for their visually captivating approaches. Hanneli’s attention to detail and love of everything unique has helped her blog speak for itself. Keep up the good work Miss Mustaparta, we’ll be watching.

For the new season, designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Halston, and Roksanda Ilincic played with contrast, crafting sensual sheer and lacey fabrics into conservative classic cuts. sheer pieces came in a mixture of soft and feminine, to the opposite extremes of tough luxe.
To wear sheer from runway to “real way”, you must master the art of concealing and light weight layering. And make sure you wear this trend for the right occasion.

Maybe you have a special wedding or occasion to attend soon, or maybe you just want to add a fabulous evening gown to your arsenal for the future. Either way, the AlOthman Ready to Wear Outlet has just added new pieces from Summer and Resort 2009 to the evening wear room. The featured designers are Marchesa, Naeem Khan, Elie Saab, Azzaro, and Carolina Herrera. Make sure you come in to see them soon as sizes are limited. Enjoy!

I am intrigued more than anything to watch the new Alice in Wonderland film. The costumes are meant to be magnificent with people such as Vivienne Westwood and Nicholas Kirkwood producing pieces for the film.
The image above is a pair of shoes that Nicholas Kirkwood designed for the film- notice the florals that are an ode to the singing gardens, the tea cups from the Mad Hatters party, the foliage for the smoking caterpillar, and the black and white check spike heel for the room where she drowns in her tears.
Spectacular!

Yes it’s official, Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on to be the creative director of Halston’s secondary line, Halston Heritage. Some of you may not be aware of Halston Heritage, the line was launched this year and it features updated archival Halston pieces at contemporary price points.
Although certain celebrities have no credibility when it comes to fashion (*cough* Lindsay *cough* Lohan), SJP is strongly associated with fashion thanks to her ongoing role as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. Actually, the line has already received a lot of buzz just by SJP donning pieces from the collection on the set of Sex and the City 2.
I think it’s very smart to bring the star on board with the new line. I just hope that she will find the time to be involved with the newly born twins and her busy movie career.
Halston Heritage will be available at AlOthman very soon. I personally can’t wait till I see the collection. I’m a fanatic when it comes to wearing colorful and flirty summer dresses, and the line delivers it all for me!

I stumbled on a cool editorial in the February 2010 issue of Dazed and Confused. Model Magdalena Frackowiak poses in crazy cutaway gowns by Viktor & Rolf.
For some reason, the editorial totally reminded me of the movie Edward Scissorhands. Talk about a work of art!

Now it’s time to highlight the S/S trends which all be instore soon. Runways took a break from technicolor–blocking trend and turned to all time favorite: white. Designers such as Erdem, Christian Louboutin, Oscar de la Renta, and Proenza Schouler have given the classic color a trendy feel with edgy cuts, a new twist on collars, voluminous sleeves, unexpected textures and additions, and fancy frills.
Look for neutral accessories in a complimentary tone to set off your dress. Or go for deep colors like turquoise or coral to stand out. And use a self-tanner to give your skin a little glow
