Resort 2013 Diary: Day 5

Today we began at Matthew Williamson.

I particularly loved his prints this season.

Pixelated backgrounds, florals, and so many colors.

Even his accessories carried over the colorful beading, fringe and mettalics that we saw in the collection.

Next stop was pure fabulous American sportswear, 10 Crosby by Derek Lam.

Feminine girly dresses came next at Collette Dinnigan.

Daisy prints in yellow, raffia flowers, and illusion necklines took over.

Our last stop of the day was at super cool brand Acne.

High waisted jeans, currency printed silk kaftans, and amazing blazers took center stage.

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 4

This morning began at Alexander Wang.

layered pieces, bright lemon yellows, sheer whites, and so many easy seperates.

Even their bags picked up on the bright colors and crocodile embossing.

Next we stopped by Helmut Lang for some perfect printed leggings, jackets, and easy jersey dresses and tops.

More bright colors came into play at Prabal Gurung.

Embellished butterfly sleeves and bustier tops.

Lastly we went to the gorgeous Peter Pilotto collection which was all about print and colors.

Possibly my favorite of all their collections so far.

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 3

Our third morning in Paris began at Preen.

The collection was floral and linear all meshed into one.

Colors were lime, blues, and reds and the dresses were slashed on one shoulder and also jutted out like a bell. Beautiful.

Next stop was the street style favorite Theyskens Theory. Dresses were short and bedazzled, leather jackets were shaped with piping, and the accessories were made up of feathers.

Grunge gone chic.

We then passed by Australian brand Camilla & Marc for their super fun neon dresses and striped blazers.

One of my favorite brands to wear because they are girly yet trendy all at once.

Next was one of my favorite appointments, Zac Posen.

As always, he never fails to stop my heart.

Loads of back detailing, crisscross of fabrics, jewelled greens and deep sultry reds, and many angelic sihouettes.

We ended the day with the so charming Rabih Kayrouz.

I believe this is possibly his strongest collection yet.

Grecian gowns, cotton poplin shirtdresses, and some beautiful copper toned metallics all made of this divine collection.

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 2

Paris today was rainy, but still as beautiful as ever.

We began our day at Isabel Marant, making sure to get all her flirty fun dresses, rad sneakers, and some perfect seperates from Etoile.

Our next stop was red carpet favorite Jason Wu.

We saw loads of lace, fuchsia, navy, peplums, and amazing little metallic insects embroidered onto cocktail dresses and necklines.

I loved this Resort collection!

Our final stop today was at Carolina Herrera.

Incredible volume was used in her gowns, a mixing of red with fuchsia, ruffles on shoulders, and some sweet little printed dresses for dinners.

Beautiful!

Off Duty Beauty

Shu Pei is most definitely my favorite model to watch off the runway.

Clearly, having been surrounded by fashion, designers, make-up artists, and hair dressers while she walked the best runways in the industry she picked up on a few pointers.

Always using clever and unusual color pairings, she loves slim legs and volume on top. She makes flat loafers look sexy, and isn’t afraid of all white ensembles.

An inspiration in the making…

Diary Final Days

Final days in Paris. Always sad to go, but the final collections were stunning.

Ballerina and jewelled beauties at Oscar de la Renta.

Colorful and sultry at Roland Mouret, plus the debut of his new shoe line. Butter yellow knee high suede boots anyone?

Fun and flirty dresses at Collette Dinnigan.

Easy seperates and beautiful prints at David Szeto.

Crisp white and funky belts at Rabih Kayrouz.

Balmain was decadent and gorgeous as always. Particularly ladylike and by far the best season yet.

And the finale was Elie Saab who had a stunning collection. Bold shoulders, geometric beading, and beautiful new colors.

Salut Paris! Until next trip in June, I will miss you much.

Bisous.

Diary Day 7 and 8

Things have been so mad that I didn’t have the chance to keep up on the blog. So here are all the updates.

Zac Posen was phenomenal, as always expected. Beautifully cut mermaid gowns, fresh colors, and full on drama.

Next was the magnificent showroom of Azzaro, which was draped for a shoot. Encrusted parrots, feathers, and lame all made up the Fall collection.

We then swung by Costume National which was full of minimal silhouettes and contrast colors in blue, white, and black.

The young and bright Diane Von Furstenburg was last and the collection is my favorite it has ever been. Super flirty dresses, turquoise and pinks, and amazing chain prints. The accessories were just incredible.

The next day we began at Proenza Schouler which had an extremely luxe collection filled with embroidered peacocks, laced leather, and fur moments. The bags- speechless.

A grey yet still beautiful view of Paris.

Vera Wang Lavender at The Meurice came next and I loved the color pairings, pink with red smoke with nude and navy with black. Fun little dresses to dance the night away.

The stunning finale gown at Carolina Herrera was one of my favorite gowns of the season. The rest of the collection was also beautiful, with boleros, pockets, and dynamic prints.

The final stop of the day was to Turkish talent Hakaan. metallic brocade dresses with full on sleeves, dipped peplums, and architectural elements brought his dresses to life.

Diary Day 6

Day 6 was all about the evening collections. We began at the very sexy collection of Naeem Khan. Thigh high slits, open backs, bugle beading, and feathers were all a huge part of this collection.

Monique Lhuillier came next. Beautiful leather detailing over delicate lace, big dramatic skirts, bustles, and slim draping all came into play here.

The cool cat of eveningwear J.Mendel was next in line. Stunning furs took up the room but there were also amazing gowns with metallic gold panelling and subtle cut-outs here and there.

Last stop on this stormy grey looking day was the Hotel Crillon to review Alessandra Rich. She is always there to show us the collection herself, which was very fragile for Fall. Cascading ruffles in yellow and blue, lace pencil gowns, and floral applique.

Diary Day 5

We began this rainy Paris morning at the super French cool girl line- Isabel Marant. Photos are prohibited, so the run of the show is all i can offer you for now.

The next stop was London shoe master Nicholas Kirkwood. The collection was pure insanity! We even picked up shoes that walked the runway for Peter Pilotto and Prabal Gurung.

Next stop was print fanatic Matthew Williamson. Rabbit embellished jackets, sparkly dresses, and feathered hems all made the AlOthman cut.

The gorgeous Preen collection came afterwards which was filled with forresty butterfly prints, and splashes of color in orange, red, and green.

We ended the day at Jason Wu with his romantic Chinese inspired collection. Reds, pinks, blacks, and so much embroidery stole the show.

Diary Day 4

We began the day at Temperley where we viewed both the main line as well as Alice. Both collections were gorgeous. Alice was filled with beautiful seperates such as bow front blouses, ruched jersey dresses, and silky tunics. The main line was all about Bohemian glamour.

Theyskens Theory came next. Prints galore in blue and yellow washes. furs, velvet jeans, and knotted blazers. Beautiful.

Last stop was Marchesa. I was so busy gasping. I forgot to take pictures.
