Elizabeth Olson made a statement at a movie premieres by sporting an ivory beaded Balmain blazer with her long jersey dress.  She styled up the look with a sleek baby blue The Row clutch, black pumps, and straight hair. The entire ensemble intrigued me because a predictable styling for the Blazer would have been a mimic of the runway look.  Elizabeth made sure to style the blazer to suit her own feminine ladylike taste.

Sarah Jessica Parker added some edge to her otherwise very elegant Oscar de la Renta gown from the PreFall 2012 collection.  The pink pleated gown was complemented with a Theyskens’ Theory leather jacket, pointy grey pumps, and white gloves.  The more I look at her picture the more I start appreciating how she pulled off the entire look.  I have said this one and I’ll say it again, only someone like SJP can make any look work for her!

Another elegant look from Oscar‘s Prefall collection was seen on Rashida Jones at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards. Her blossoming dress looked so chic with her navy heels, but what’s with the messy lifeless hair? She would have looked amazing with her hair up in a bun or a sleek ponytail.  Rashida could have also added a statement necklace to elevate the look by a few notches.

During summer weddings  we are always in need of gowns that are thriving on color and glitzy detailing, and ofcourse we can always turn to Oscar de la Renta to fulfill that need.    Here is Ashley Greene showing off one of his statement cocktail dresses for the red carpet.  She paired the frock with a metallic belt and black pumps, and she finished off the look with bouncy curls, pink lips and a gorgeous smile!  Even though the dress should not be overpowered by accessories, I still think Ashley would have aced this look in colorful satin sandals and a neutral colored clucth… the black accessories look too heavy on her!

Another show stopping piece  was worn by the one and only Sarah Jessica Parker at the Harry Potter premiere, an Oscar de la Renta column gown with water colored print.  Yet since she was attending the premiere with her son,  SJP decided to dress it down by pairing it with a blazer and a purse.   That’s how amazing she is, she still manages to steal the spotlight even with the minimal effort she put into her look!

It took me a few seconds to recognize Jennifer Morrison who looked dashing in this Oscar de la Renta dainty cocktail dress with chic cascading tassels at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. She paired the frock with nude heels and diamond earrings yet she perfected it with her statement updo.  I have really fallen in love with the Oscar piece just by how Jennifer looked in it, it’s ideal for a wedding or a reception.  I would have, however, add some color to the look … maybe through a pair of colored heels? or perhaps a clutch? Just a thought …

Nicole Kidman showed off her feminine and romantic side in this blush Collette Dinnigan dress with a soft lace overlay.  She finished off her look with golden sandals, minimal accessories, and loose curls.

Rachel McAdams was another blonde bombshell seen in the Collette piece, yet she opted for black pumps as her choice of heels.  I have never been a fan of black pumps and I am not making an exception for Rachel (even though I simply adore her).  Nicole‘s sandals don’t feel heavy and they manage to elongate her legs (not that she needs it).  Even if I would go for a pair of pumps, I would have chosen a much softer neutral color.
