Another day at the Cannes Film Festival and another chance for stars to shine. I’ve been disappointed so far, however I feel that today, it has improved a smidgen.
Tan Zhou took a chance and wore this dramatic tiered ivory and slate strapless gown from the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 runway. It could have been a very Disney Princess dress, however she made it funky and modern by pairing it with a chunky sharp massive necklace and her sleek bowl like hair style- a way to unfluff her look. Fantastic style decision with the necklace.
Elizabeth Banks redeemed herself from yesterdays blah outfit by wearing a seductive navy blue sequined gown with an interesting dipped neckline and trendy rose cuffs on both wrists. A simple yet glamorous pulled together ensemble by Andrew GN.
Devon Aoki, one of my favorite models, strutted down the red carpet in a violet draped one shoulder goddess gown by Alberta Ferretti. She paired it with a crystal clutch and a 1970′s style sexy high ponytail. I think she looks young and fresh for such an event. I only wish she had gone lighter with the eye make-up as her eyes are stunning on their own.
Lastly, we have the ever enchanting Indian beauty Aishwarya Rai who chose a duck egg soft blue silk and crepe gown from Elie Saab’s Spring Couture show. The dramatic one shoulder and cross over beading on the bust add details however this look seems quite unfinished and common to me- not special at all.
Although nobody has blown me away as of yet, I still am hopeful and optimistic. It keeps getting better day by day.
Will keep you posted on the latest gowns and styles as they come.
