Honorary Reception at the Women’s Cultural Social Society

In honor of a defining moment in Kuwait’s history, the Women’s Cultural Social Society will proudly be honoring Aseel al-Awadi, Rola Dashti, Salwa al-Jassar and Massouma al-Mubarak for their victory in the recent elections. This event will be in the presence of the four MP’s and is open to the public. 

The reception will be held at Women’s Culural Society Headquarters today Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Khaldiya, Block 2, Ferdoos st. on the airport road, across from K.U. For information, please call (+965) 2484-3667.

Exporting Pop! at Al Sabah Art & Design

The latest exhibition at Al Sabah Art & Design displays the work of artists from the Dean Project/NYC. These artists explore the subject of Pop Art and the influence of western pop culture on the non-western world. Using a blend of different mediums and a bit of humor, the Dean Project visually depicts pop art in has virtually never been done before in Kuwait.

The exhibition is open to the public May 11 to June 3, 2009. The Al Sabah Art & Design is located at the Corniche Club.
