I have some incredibly exciting news! Several months ago, AlOthman was approached by the chairman of the Swiss Textile Awards asking us for our participation in this years event. Basically, we had to come up with a candidate from any possible designer that we believe is extremely skilled and presents the most talent in the fashion industry to receive both a cash prize as well as an award that is highly praised in the fashion industry. I personally took on the task as I am the one who knows the designers and their collections best.

I scoured through the runways, kept my eyes wide open while in Paris, and gazed through all our clothing downstairs until I finally felt secure in my choice of designer to select (believe me, not an easy task).

So, then I received an e-mail today inviting me to Zurich in November to attend the event as one of this years fashion panel! Moi, sitting next to Suzy Menkes-Fashion Editor of International Herald Tribune, Nathalie Pernot- Womanswear Buyer for Le Bon Marche, Anita Barr- Director of Fashion for Selfridges, Miranda Almond- Fashion Editor for British Vogue, and many more influential people of the Fashion Industry.

Ooh!! The Joy! The Anticipation, as I will be watching the runway shows of all six finalists crossing my fingers that my choice will win.

Although- it was also a wonderful delight that four out of six of the finalists are designers we stock in AlOthman- Peter Pilotto, Erdem, Alexis Mabille, and Alexander Wang; so if any of these four designers win, I will be so ecstatic and celebrating the night away in Zurich!

Ooh- I better start hoarding my Hockleys, Zurich gets chilly in November!
