So, today was a really busy busy day and we covered so much that it is impossible to fit into one post. So I will split it into two. Our first appointment was at Colette Dinnigan where we were excited to see their day wear which was a mix of laces and broderie Anglaise and beautiful new prints. Their colors were in pinks and blues and bright citrus yellows; a fresh new look for the designer.
Our next stop was the wonderful showrrom of Issa. Drawing back to her Brazilian heritage, she played with the idea of exotic a lot. With prints of the toucans on the t-shirts, bright vibrant colors, and really loud flashy prints; all placed cunningly on kaftans, cape-like tops, and wrap dresses. She also toyed with ruffle detailing, sequence, and beading to finish off the looks.
My favorite new addition, however, had to be the adorable ‘ant’ print. It came in three variations, and were tiny little black ants made of embroidery and beading that were crawling over t-shirts, blouses, dresses, and bottoms. They were so adorable and gave an entirely new meaning to having “Ants in your Pants.”
The other best part of the showroom was the amazing floral arrangements all around. Well, not really florals. The bouquets that ornamented all the tables and surfaces were actual live Venus Fly Traps! Naturally, to go with the whole mood of the exotic collection. Of course I had to play with them a little, press on the inside of their mouths and watch them close shut on me. Great fun!
After picking up a new line (it seems all mysterious, but have to be professional and not gossip just yet) I was heading out, getting into the car, I noticed this little sketch on the street that I thought was great! A few moments later, I even spotted the it model of the year, Chanel Iman roaming the streets of Paris. Fashion Week is in full swing and I will have more to share tomorrow!
