After all the excitement and much anticipation, Sex and the City 2 is finally released! I can’t wait till I see the variety of outfits, the hair, and to catch up on the storyline … I just can’t wait!

I will be traveling to Montreal in two weeks and thankfully the movie will still be playing. Until then, I’m gazing at the released images of the movie and learning fun facts about it (did you know that Carrie made a record-breaking number of 48 outfit changes). Of those images I found was the movie’s poster where Carrie looked tantalizing in her Halston Heritage dress (which we had seen in the behind the scenes footage) … I love how 2 was incorporated into the movie slogan ” To Carrie On”.
I will let you know if I spot fabulous ensembles that we can find at AlOthman. For now, Carrie‘s Halston Heritage dress is available at the store in white and black for KD 119, there is also a long version available in blush pink.
There are two very distinctive pairs of shoes sitting pretty at the AlOthman Outlet. These two shoes have several things in common: neutral palettes, metallic accents, and woven designs. Another thing they have in common? Both of them are by Giambattista Valli. The elegance of the brand is reflected in the feminine design and soft colors.

The lavender shoe has a summery cork wedge and would look great with a pair of skinny jeans. The ivory pair is perfect for a chic dress in the evening. It will not take any attention away from your dress but the style is still eye-catching. Both pairs have adjustable ankle straps and match many colors, so the outfit options are endless! I hope you pass by and check them out.

A pastime of mine is to browse the internet seeing how people dress and choose to style themselves.
One of my favorite sites has to be Karlas Closet.

I don’t know what it is about her, but I find her to be quite charming and sweet. Her photographs are always so glossy and colorful and just like candy for the eyes. I think what makes her different from many of the other fashion bloggers is that she meshes luxe designer, vintage, and highstreet really really well. I find that most other bloggers only focus on one or the other which makes it quite difficult to relate to.

Plus, because of all the positive feedback on her quirky vintage pieces, she started up a sister site where she sells many of her finds. I love how she is accommodating to her readers and truly wants to share beautiful fashion.
Check out her amazing use of accessories such as brooches on coats, belts hugging her waist over kimono robes, and clutches for daytime.
Take a few minutes to skim through her site here, and let me know what you think!

Peter Pilotto, the fantastic design team behind my favorite Spring/Summer 2010 collection, has used their fantasy prints for those who do not have the age maturity for their fabulous dresses.
All you scraggly legged, tiny chested, bony little 10-something who want to keep up with fashion while reveling at your Mama’s fabulous wardrobes dreaming of when you’ll be able to fill into them, can grab a Peter Pilotto for Kipling bagpack for school!
Hurrah! You little chicas who are in the midst of ripening into the fashionista you were destined to be- take note and learn to rock your prints early.

Cannes Film Festival is so yesterday, but I just found out about Christian Louboutin’s showbiz attempt at the Festival, with a pop-up shoe store on the beach of the Riviera resort that doubles as a showcase for his Loubi’s Angels. They go by the stage names Jessyca, Claudine and Josephine, and performed outside the Palm Beach Casino for three nights after a series of short movies posted on Louboutin’s Web site, featuring cameos by the likes of Mika, Dita Von Teese and Elisa Sednaoui.
According to WWD, The designer said the idea came to him a few years ago when he was lunching with an actress in Cannes who complained she could not find his shoes there. “I thought, why not have something like an ice cream truck stationed in front of the Hôtel du Cap?” he said. Instead, he snapped up an old cheese truck and had it painted black. The mobile store, dubbed “The Black Carriage,” will travel through France and Spain this summer.
I love it when fashion designers expand into something startling. It just shows that their creativity goes beyond sketching and tailoring. And we have showcased in our blog on several occasions similar talents like Erdem, Elie Saab, and Jason Wu. I can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.

From dolls to runway and now sunglasses, Jason Wu literally “can’t stop, won’t stop”! The optical collection pays homage to famous women; larger frame pieces named after Amelia Earhart, Joan Jett, Mia Farrow, and Jean Seberg, and famous heroines like Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Eyre, and Scout Finch.
From cat-eyes to aviators, and shades ranging from frosted rose to classic black, the collection offers a full range of styles for everyone. The collection is now available at Soho optique, Ilori (NYC).

Many of you enter the AlOthman Accessories Outlet and focus on one thing only: shoes! However, I have a few items to capture your attention while you wait for sizes. The outlet actually has a gorgeous selection of belts and you wouldn’t believe how budget-friendly they are. One of my favorite picks is the grey patent leather Oscar de la Renta belt with a black crackle design. This belt sits at the high waist and has two adjustable gold buckles in opposite directions.

Another great piece is a Peter Som tan and chain mix belt. It’s very unique and also matches a lot of outfits because one chain is silver and the other is gold. The last belt I would like to mention is also by Mr. Oscar de la Renta. It is a thick tan leather belt and the color is very rich. I thought it was a statement peice that could stay with you forever.

Good things always come to an end, and that includes the thrilling and alluring Cannes Film Festival. The two week festival was filled with mesmerizing gowns full of glitz and glamour, and so many actresses managed to blow us away with their red carpet choices. I was delighted to find out that AlOthman currently carries one of the pieces that were donned in the festival, and that is Eva Longoria‘s Elie Saab mini dress. Her nude asymmetrical frock with structured shoulder and gold embellished detailing celestially showed off her petite frame and her warm caramel skin color. Eva‘s golden accessories were the perfect addition to her sultry sparkling look.

Then I was beyond thrilled when I realized that two of Canne’s divine red carpet looks will also be recieved at AlOthman for the upcoming Fall season. The first is Helen Mirren‘s black jersey asymmetrical one sleeved Elie Saab gown with an embroidered strap. Helen added her own bedazzled touch with the diamond cuffs. The second was Kate Beckinsale‘s Balmain black sequined dress with a thigh high split and gold studded belt. It was fascinating to see her step out of her comfort zone, but I wish she had gone all the way and opted for a sleek ponytail. Either way, I just can’t wait till I see her gown up close and personal!

Lo and behold the ever impressive fashion stylist Catherine Baba.
She is both a freelance stylist as well as a consultant for top houses such as Givenchy, Balmain, Ungaro, and Chanel.
Her style is eclectic and reminiscent of old school trends such as capes, turbans, and furs.
I simply adore the way she layers everything from colors and textures.
And look below: even she is a part of the bike craze. In her insane spiked boots!

Recently, while doing my rounds checking up on blogs and style sites, I have noticed a lot of talk about stylish women on bikes.
Is this the new accessory to dote?
Seen during Fashion Weeks, throughout New York City in the summers, and all over Brussels year round, everyone’s picked up on it from Stylefile to The Sartotialist.
Will you soon spot me in a spunky little Proenza number with, a long cardi, straw fedora, and my mega Pierre Hardy‘s on the Gulf Road on my way to work?
Oh Kuwait, shame on your heat and traffic, keeping me from being forward in my fashion game!
