Elie’s Fall Fascination

I’m not usually a fan of winter collections that lack bright cheerful colors, but Elie Saab‘s Fall pieces were definitely an exception.  The gowns were enriched with sequined tulle and lace fabrication, and their silhouettes were adorned with draping and cutouts.  The elegant pieces came in the deepest and richest winter hues including forest green (again my new favorite col0r which I’m predicting will be the hottest color of the Fall 2011 season), midnight blue, and grenadine.  Ofcourse many celebrities were huge fans of the collections, let’s go over them one by one …

Helen Mirren in Elie Saab Fall 2010

The very elegant Helen Mirren was one of the first to get her hands on the Elie Saab collection when she wore this black asymmetrical one sleeved gown with an embroidered strap during the last Cannes Festival.  I just adore how she gave her own touch by adding these diamond cuff to the look, absolute elegance!

Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab Fall 2010

This cobalt blue frock with cap sleeves and cascading ruffles was worn by Angelina Jolie on one of her movie premieres. I’m surprised and very glad that she didn’t go for a black number, because this color looks divine on her.

SJP in Elie Saab

I can only imagine someone like Sarah Jessica Parker pulling off this long sleeved dress with lace structured panels, just look at how she punched up the look with her turquoise Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Daisy Lowe in Elie Saab

Daisy Lowe showed up to the 2010 Fashion British Awards in another Elie Saab lacey creation, but this very detailed heavily printed gown somehow gave off a gothic mystical feel that the model carried out very well.

Scarlett Johansen in Elie Saab Fall 2010

One of my favorite gowns from Elie‘s Fall collection was worn by Scarlett Johansson who embraced her curves in the forest green fully embroidered gown with cut-out detailing.  She certainly owned the look better than the runway model, but there is something about that mo hawk that is bothering me.  Otherwise, the look was perfection with Scarlett’s  minimal accessories and make up.

Elie Saab‘s Fall 2010 collection is available at AlOthman.

Our last day in Paris was quite a frigid one but it was filled with exciting appointments.

We began at the showroom of Alexis Mabille where there were tones of reds, camels, navy and some prints. I was loving the long kaftans and the full sleeved dresses. The bows and floral headpieces were also stunning. I can’t wait to see the show.

Next was Joseph where we picked up on a lot of fashionable separates such as leather trimmed tunics, rabbit jumpers, and dove grey gabardine jeans. Lovely.

Balmain was where we went next and I loved the collection! It was a bit Dancing Queen with long gold paillete skirts with a purple silk blouse, blue paillete wide legged trousers, and classic blazers with gold rope trim.

W stopped at a little cafe next for some lunch.

One of my favorite appointments came next, Christian Louboutin.  It was filled with reworked classics such as lace, tone on tone spikes, baseball finishings, and metallic colors.

Lots to love!

Our final stop was to the showroom of a past designer we hope to work with again.

And then it was a very sad goodbye to Paris!

Off to the airport tomorrow to head back home to Kuwait and I am so excited to finalize these orders and get back into the Resort swing of things in Kuwait.

See you at AlOthman!

Trois

DSC_0194

Day three began at the showroom of Oscar de la Renta. On this hazy day, the bright gowns and sparkling embroidery really brightened up my mood. There were plenty of pastel colors, bow details, and feathers. All accents I love.

Next stop was Roland Mouret. They played a lot with color and had a firey red, emerald green, okra, and deep purple. There were two pieces I really loved which were a metallic column gown with obi belt and a ruffle sleeved wrap mini. Both to die for!

The very Parisian Azzaro came next, and the collection was stunning! Especially a black jumpsuit with sheer lace panels right down the sides- only for the daring and super fabulous!

The last stop for today was Jason Wu. There was leather detailing, floral prints, and silk petals adorning the many dresses and gowns. A very sweet collection to begin the Fall.

Tomorrow is the last day for Pre Fall 2011 buying, and so many great brands saved for the end.

Good night for now my wonderful readers!

Day Deux

DSC_0057

The rainy Paris morning began with the luxe collection of J.Mendel. As always it was bursting with glamourous gowns and etherial pieces. I loved a split front silvery white gown that I was told was meant to be worn by Halle Berry, and a plum one shoulder gown with a full mermaid bottom. So beautiful.

We passed by Le Place de Concorde and saw these crazy light trees that completely charmed me.

Beginnings

DSC_0020

Our first morning in Paris for Pre Fall 2011 began by the beautiful Madelain, where we stopped by the showroom of Giambattista Valli.

The collection was beautiful with lots of furs, reds, and feminine touches. There were feathers, paillets, and swiss dot lace.

We then stopped by the new Valli store, which is his first boutique in the world, which had gorgeous brass winged door handles and photographs of his past pieces like this sensational feathered coat.
