Day 2

Day two began hazy and I hoped that the weather would finally cool down.

We began our day viewing the Pierre Balmain collection. It is the second line of Balmain which is more wearable and easier approachable. With Bandana prints on maxi skirts and silk jackets as well as chain work on little black dresses and safety pin detailing on eroded tees, the essence of the rock and roll girl is very prominent.

The next visit was to Edun. I loved the collection today for its bright colors in raspberry, sea blue, and olives. There were slinky easy trousers, degrade denim shirtdresses, and silk printed kimono dresses.

I particularly loved their new t-shirt line which were designed by school children in Uganda to “draw what you want to be when you grow up”. The result? School teachers, Nuns, and farmers. Of course 100% of the sales of these tees go directly back to the school in Uganda.

Preen came next and it is definitely one of my favorites this season. Candy colors and tetris type prints dominated the pieces. There were crepe blazers in sugary yellow and Pepto pink, multi colored sequins covering an entire dress, and sweet little lace frills on hems, collars, and sleeves.

Today we didn’t get to see as much as we had planned as so much had come up in the day; which really means just so much more in the next few days.

Spring 2012 Buying Trip- Day 1

Bonjour Bonjour!

Snobby is back in the City of Lights!

The buying trip for Spring 2012 began today in a very strangely warm Paris for October.

We began at Louboutin where we spotted neons, spikes, lace, color blocking, and Daffodils are clearly here to stay.

Next stop was the extremely pretty and girly showroom of Erdem. Blues dominated but there were also specks of coral and yellow. A definite Summer collection with new off the shoulder necklines, pleating, and decadent sequins.

My favorite piece was a vanilla based navy lace trench coat; it was frothy and sheer and just delicious.

This week, the look we are referring to involves a gorgeous pair of bronze shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood. Emma Watson in Oscar de la Renta

Emma Watson stepped out for a Harry Potter red carpet premiere in a Fall 2011 Oscar de la Renta gown. The gown has a soft gold hue mixed with icy blue tulle layers all the way down the skirt. With such a dramatic design, Emma knew better than to overwhelm the look with too many jewels. Instead, she kept it simple with slicked hair and drop earrings. The Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011 gown is available at AlOthman.

Just in!

This week’s additions include contemporary designer Alexander Wang. Must-have accessories from Nicholas Kirkwood and Jason Wu are also in the mix!

From Alexander Wang we have some funky pieces like this mint green foil-appliquéd satin dress or this white sheer blouse with a multicolored doodle print.

Statement shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood can be the perfect addition to any simple outfit. These blue leather lace-up peep-toes with light blue lace detail are extremely unique and flattering on the foot. If you prefer a more simple option, these pink satin pumps with a pearled platform are beautiful.

From Jason Wu , we have great everyday bags. If you’re into shoulder bags and totes, we actually have BOTH! This chic beige leather tote bag with black leather trim and silver hardware is a great piece, and is also available in brown.
