We began at Elie Saab to look at his first Pre Fall collection ever. There were beautiful dresses with lace yokes and backs and a sentiment of Roman Goddesses with the pleating and draping of the skirts.
Next was a trip to Balmain. The collection was my absolute favorite of all. Inspired by the Faberge Egg and Tsar ruled Russia, there were pearls quilted into jackets, burned velvet kaftans, and incredible floral printed seperates. I truly wanted every piece.
We then went to see Rabih Kayrouz in his old theater showroom. Violets and ecru dominated his colors with an introduction of a print too. Long flowy gowns that elongated the figures and tiered skirts added glamour to the already very elegant line.
Hockley was the next stop and he went mad with ideas for Pre Fall. Crazy bright colors on full jackets, and animal prints on tied cover-ups. Also my favorite degrade blue to brown vest.
Our last stop was to review Prabal Gurung. Lovely sequins in pale pinks, printed sheaths covered in embroidery, and a classic black shirtdress modernized with a full skirt and cool leather belt.
That’s all I have for now…except for the fab InStyle mag I picked up with Nicola Roberts rocking Preen.
Much more to come in two weeks when I cover the shows at New York Fashion Week.
