Designer Erin Fetherston celebrated the one year anniversary of launching her more affordable and accessible line called ERIN.
She described it ‘A New-Age Fairy Tale ’ because the designer was inspired by the work of artist Barry Underwood, who is very known for his surreal photographs that have won him acclaim aroundd the world.

With this whimsical and enchanted inspiration came a collection full of floral dresses with everything from bugle beads to metallic snowflakes.

Central St. Martins graduate, London-based Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic will be visiting us today at AlOthman from 6-9 pm for a trunk show of her Pre-Fall 2012 collection. In anticipation to her visit we will be dedicating today’s post to her.

Grew up in Serbia, after different attempts to become ballerina and inspired by theater costumes, Roksanda decided to take up fashion design and studied at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Serbia. After reading about Louise Wilson and Central St. Martins, she decided to continue her studies in London where she later met her husband. While studying for her MA she was offered modeling jobs and worked as a model for Storm agency up until her graduation.
Known for her elegantly cut and colorful dresses, Roksanda‘s designs sky-rocketed with popularity among many fashion-forward celebrities and socialites. Her label initially started as womenswear but is currently expanding to include swimwear and childrenswear (after recently having a baby daughter).

For her upcoming pre-fall 2012 collection, Roksanda Ilincic took her inspiration straight from home. She took inspiration from Legos and transformed them into bright colors of vivid red, acid yellows and electric blue while maintain geometric shapes to her pieces such as trapeze dresses, toned-down cuffs and peplums and also column dresses.

Come join us today and meet the statuesque designer with the live trunk show of her Pre-fall 2012 collection from 6-9 pm at AlOthman!

These Nicholas Kirkwood shoes remind me of one of my favorite films Marie Antoinette directed by Sophia Coppola. It is pure and utter eye candy to watch.
The satin pink finish, the pearls lines up underneath and that spike heel all make for a perfect shoes.
Even Harpers Bazaar UK went nuts over it and featured it in one of their issues.

There is no better way to end the awards season other than with the glamorous Oscar’s night and over the top gowns gliding the red carpet. Some stars were even lucky enough to grab pieces off the Fall 2012 runway. One of these lucky ladies was George Clooney‘s date Stacey Keibler who glowed in this Marchesa gold lame draped column gown. The swirled rose detailing at her hip gave the perfect flair to an otherwise ordinary golden gown. A pair of dangling earrings, a box clutch, and side swept golden blonde hair completed her perfected red carpet look.

Then we have the adorable Lily Collins glamming up Vanity Fair’s red carpet in a blue and nude tulle Monique Lhuillier gown. I guess she is still channeling her “Snow White” character from the upcoming “Mirror Mirror” movie. I’m so glad she let her hair up and wore those delicate earrings … she’s a true modern princess indeed!

I’m not usually a fan of nude gowns on the red carpet, but this ruffled tulle J. Mendel gown on Kristen Wiig looked exquisite at the Oscars. She complemented the soft gown with loose waves which I loved (even though they may not have been appropriate for the Oscars). I just wish she had worn an emerald encrusted cuff to add an element of color to her look.

Finally, Shailene Woodley blossomed the VF red carpet in a floral Proenza Schouler long sleeved mini dress. It was a refreshing and a much improved look from her disappointing white Valentino gown.
Shailene‘s dress will soon be available at AlOthman, and the rest of these glamorous red carpet looks will be available during the PreFall and Fall seasons.

I am a huge fan of fashion illustrations. And I was delighted to find these ones here.
