Wes Gordon’s name is synonymous with indulgent luxury; a certain timeless elegance mixed with a youthful and somewhat modern edge as always, a reflection of adding fantasy into fashion.

Last season, Gordon was inspired by Kate Middleton and this collection had a similarly relevant but perhaps darker starting point. “It’s Rooney Mara meets Great Expectations,” says the designer. “I think it’s the attitude, what [Mara] represents. It’s that darkness; it’s that bite.

Key looks included an edgy chainmail slouch vest, which ruffled loosely around the waist and sported a deep V, teamed with a gold silk, mullet-hemmed skirt, gracefully falling in waterfall pleats. As you can see below a butler coat that was a direct inspiration from “Great Expectations”.
