Resort 2013 Diary: Day 5

Today we began at Matthew Williamson.

I particularly loved his prints this season.

Pixelated backgrounds, florals, and so many colors.

Even his accessories carried over the colorful beading, fringe and mettalics that we saw in the collection.

Next stop was pure fabulous American sportswear, 10 Crosby by Derek Lam.

Feminine girly dresses came next at Collette Dinnigan.

Daisy prints in yellow, raffia flowers, and illusion necklines took over.

Our last stop of the day was at super cool brand Acne.

High waisted jeans, currency printed silk kaftans, and amazing blazers took center stage.

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 4

This morning began at Alexander Wang.

layered pieces, bright lemon yellows, sheer whites, and so many easy seperates.

Even their bags picked up on the bright colors and crocodile embossing.

Next we stopped by Helmut Lang for some perfect printed leggings, jackets, and easy jersey dresses and tops.

More bright colors came into play at Prabal Gurung.

Embellished butterfly sleeves and bustier tops.

Lastly we went to the gorgeous Peter Pilotto collection which was all about print and colors.

Possibly my favorite of all their collections so far.

Trend spotting: Peplums!

Skimming through daily fashion reads, it is hard to miss the rise of the peplum trend. Celebrities have been spotted sporting this look on a daily-basis! Celebrity-model Zoe Saldana was spotted wearing this extra cute white Prabal Gurang peplum top!

Embrace this trend this Summer with our Vera Wang floral peplum top from our online outlet!

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 3

Our third morning in Paris began at Preen.

The collection was floral and linear all meshed into one.

Colors were lime, blues, and reds and the dresses were slashed on one shoulder and also jutted out like a bell. Beautiful.

Next stop was the street style favorite Theyskens Theory. Dresses were short and bedazzled, leather jackets were shaped with piping, and the accessories were made up of feathers.

Grunge gone chic.

We then passed by Australian brand Camilla & Marc for their super fun neon dresses and striped blazers.

One of my favorite brands to wear because they are girly yet trendy all at once.

Next was one of my favorite appointments, Zac Posen.

As always, he never fails to stop my heart.

Loads of back detailing, crisscross of fabrics, jewelled greens and deep sultry reds, and many angelic sihouettes.

We ended the day with the so charming Rabih Kayrouz.

I believe this is possibly his strongest collection yet.

Grecian gowns, cotton poplin shirtdresses, and some beautiful copper toned metallics all made of this divine collection.

…and the Countdown Continues!

Resort 2013 Diary: Day 2

Paris today was rainy, but still as beautiful as ever.

We began our day at Isabel Marant, making sure to get all her flirty fun dresses, rad sneakers, and some perfect seperates from Etoile.

Our next stop was red carpet favorite Jason Wu.

We saw loads of lace, fuchsia, navy, peplums, and amazing little metallic insects embroidered onto cocktail dresses and necklines.

I loved this Resort collection!

Our final stop today was at Carolina Herrera.

Incredible volume was used in her gowns, a mixing of red with fuchsia, ruffles on shoulders, and some sweet little printed dresses for dinners.

Beautiful!

What a fox!

Amanda Shadforth, fashion blogger to the famous Oracle Fox is one of my many favorite bloggers to follow. Simply because she constantly has an interesting not-so-simple -yet-not-so-over-the-top feel to all of her outfits. I feel she is one of the very few who can really pull of the “I really look like I didn’t put any effort but I did and I look fabulous.”

Here latest outfit captured the usual essence of her carefree look. Donned in a T by Alexander Wang, leather shorts, wrap scarf, Alexander Wang back pack and the infamous Isabel Marant Bekket sneakers.

Resort 2013 Begins

We arrived into Milano for our first stop of Resort 2013 buying.

Weather was balmy and beautiful, and we were as excited as ever!

First stop was to Derek Lam.

The prints were wild, the colors bright, and the gowns had simple beautiful elegance.

American sportswear gone luxe.

Next stop was to Brian Atwood, though we couldnt take any photos, the collection was all about color!

Next we went on to see chic minimal Italian brand, Costume National.

We were then jetting on a plane to Paris.

We spent our whole morning at the delightful showroom of Diane Von Furstenberg.

The collection was youthful, Mod, and very flirtatious and fun.

Paris is just beginning, so stick around for loads of more news.

Modern Victoria

It took me a few seconds to recognize Jennifer Morrison who looked dashing in this Oscar de la Renta dainty cocktail dress with chic cascading tassels at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. She paired the frock with nude heels and diamond earrings yet she perfected it with her statement updo.  I have really fallen in love with the Oscar piece just by how Jennifer looked in it, it’s ideal for a wedding or a reception.  I would have, however, add some color to the look … maybe through a pair of colored heels? or perhaps a clutch? Just a thought …

The Oscar de la Renta dress is available at AlOthman.
