Diary: Fall 2012 Buying Trip

Paris Day 1 began at Acne. Colorful, corseted, fun, and modern. Degrade shirts, puffa dresses, architectural skirts and so much more. We also adored their bright fun shoes. ANother great part…they served us a delicious breakfast for the 9am appointment.

The next stop was Erdem where latex was introduced between the girly florals. Colorful lace in blue and yellow as well as youthful tweeds on coats and knits.

Our next stop was the stunning Christian Louboutin, but as I am not allowed to take photos, lets move on to the next…

Burak Uyan. The very talented and yummy Turkish womenswear designer went all out for Fall pairing suede with satin, mixing lace-ups with buckles, and using the most fun colors. Beautiful, so very comfortable, and pure fashion.

For this season, I will be documenting the shoes the designers wear, so here is Burak Uyan‘s choice of footwear. Work for fashion!

I wish you’d talk more about pregnancy fashion. There are some brands that do lines for pregnant women such as Missoni for example but I’m talking about things that would suit pregnant women even though they’re not targeting them. By covering and offering these kinds of clothes you do a favor for the heavier gals and some of the older (above 50 year old) women in Kuwait and you allow pregnant women to look chic. I’ll give you an example: you see the Acne yellow/green dress you’ve posted? That looks like if the stitching in the middle was just slight up north of the belly then that space under the empire line could have room for a growing belly. Granted it’s way too short but I’m just giving you an example of how non-pregnant clothes can fit both pregnant women and sometimes heavy women. I think this could expand your base because let’s face it we have a lot of fashionistas in Kuwait who don’t have the modern day fashionista body frame, size or height. I’m just saying you could hit two birds with one stone. :)
