I have hesitated on whether I should post a few words following Michael Jackson‘s passing. However, as a dedicated fan and a fashion blogger I realized the need to share on how this gifted artist has inspired millions of us, not only through his music but his persona and fashion. Whether it was through his ‘Beat It’ red zipper accented leather jacket, his ‘Billie Jean’ slick leather suit, his signature cropped pants, embellished band blazer, or bedazzled glove, Michael was known to be a fashion inspiration in the 80′s and 90′s. I believe that none of these looks would have been embraced on fashion runways if it weren’t for him. Now that many high profile designers like Christophe Decarnin for Balmain and Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy are reviving the 80′s inspired trends (which Michael appeared in himself), I think it’s safe to say that the artist will continue to become a vital part of the fashion world.
RIP Michael and you will always be in our hearts …
