Gilles Bensimon is one of the most famous and highly publicized fashion photographers around. Born in Paris, he launched his career with French Elle in 1967 before moving on to become the creative director of American Elle. He has also done a lot of photography on the show America’s Next Top Model.
Bensimon is known more for his photographs of actual models rather than celebrities. When he moved to American Elle in 1985 he shot the original supermodels like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington. He even ended up marrying Elle Macpherson, but the marriage didn’t last. His third wife, Kelly Bensimon, is now a regular on the reality show The Real Housewives of New York City.

Bensimon has had an exclusive contract will ELLE magazine, shooting their covers for the last 20 years. However, he has recently left ELLE magazine and did a Redbook cover featuring Faith Hill as Grace Kelly. He has also done several ad campaigns such as the 2006 Badgley Mischka campaign featuring the Olsen twins.

Bensimon’s style can be described as classical yet in no way ordinary. He has a knack for turning women into true visions of beauty. Other than models, Bensimon has shot actresses like Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Kiera Knightley, and Natalie Portman. We’re excited to see what he’ll do next!
