A Rocking Sort of Day

I was awake bright and early today with anticipation for our first appointment, Balmain. It particularly excites me for pre collections because I have absolutely no clue what they’ve done for the season since they never do a show until Main. The collection moved from the distressed combat into a far more luxurious and refined route with fitted blazers and dresses. Almost everything was bedazzled with gold, black, or silver sequins and sometimes all three together! They did them in stripes, in zig zags and even mounted chains around necklines and hems.

Something else I loved that they did were these amazing watercolor printed tee’s. They went amazing with the leather coated jeans and the pinstripe leather harem pants. The bomber jacket was another massive hit, done in tiny gold sequins that you could see gleaming from across the room. I am excited for this collection, and particularly to see how they style the show.

Our next stop was the ver glamorous mirrored showroom of Azzaro. The collection took a crazy modern twist by using new fabrics such as lush velvets and creating jumpsuits for eveningwear. This may draw your eyebrow up in suspicion, but I guarantee you they are ever so elegant. Colors such as raspberry, ivory, and navy were found at every coner and bows and ruffles created the details for the garments.

We were then on to The Row who’s collection is getting more exciting every time we visit it. They have created silky trenchcoats, slender pants with a pin tucked waist, this stunning bustier cocoon dress, ribbon backed sheer tops. This line is not only for leggings and t-shirts anymore, oh no no- it has moved far past that into a very chic collection.

A little secret: our last stop of the day was to a new collection that I am just ecstatic about! It is a baby, and is only in its second sesaon ever, but the designer has an outstanding background and the pieces are just so stunning. You will hear about this one very very soon.
